Moira Bateman
Through my art I’m working to express how we are inextricably a part of the natural world.

I use sheep and bison wool, silk and linen along with weathered horse-yokes. The artwork expresses a furry, wild, wooly animalness married (and yoked) to the human figure expressed as larger than life garment forms.

The materials together with the over sized figures, merge the divide between the human and the rest of the natural world. The seemingly primitive materials and forms can take us both backward and forward in time, raising possibilities through the imagination.
